Exam season is now under way for Year 11.
Students have been busy fundraising and will be presenting Matt Hampson a cheque for £1,195.48 for his Foundation this afternoon.
Many congratulations to Mrs Epton who completed the London Marathon in a gruelling 5 hours and 56 minutes.
We would like to confirm that the college will be open on Friday 20th April as usual.
Congratulations to the boys' Year 7 Rugby team, who have won the Plate at the Leicestershire Schools' Rugby Football Union Tournament.
So far approximately £1,230 has been raised. The money will be split between Sport Relief and the Matt Hampson Foundation.

As a consequence of industrial action planned for the 30th November 2011 JFC will be closed to students in Years 7, 8 and 9.

John Ferneley College now offers the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as part of its Enrichment programme.
The Bone Cancer Research Trust is our nominated charity for 2011-2012.
We are very excited about setting up a Parents’ and Community forum.
John Ferneley’s first set of GCSE results are superb, with 88% of our 186 Year 11 students achieving the distinction of at least 5 good GCSEs (A* – C).
All students of all abilities have achieved outstanding results.
The two recent Enrichment Days were extremely successful and provided students with a variety of activities and challenges.
As you will be aware from the media, colleagues in NUT and ATL will be taking industrial action nationally on the 30th June
Two members of the Maths team will be available from 10.00am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 1st June for support with Maths revision in preparation for the exam on 6th June.

The governing body has voted to start a process which might eventually lead to Academy status for John Ferneley College.
