Career guidance and advice is built into the school’s pastoral programme.
We have a well equipped careers section in the school library. Induction to the careers library takes place at the beginning of Year 9. This includes work with the Job Education ICT database (JED). Many careers activities take place during the school year. These take in vocationally orientated taster courses at the Brooksby and Melton F.E. College and visits by representatives from local industry.
The school has a particularly good link with Connexions. This organisation provides information and advice for 13 to 19 year olds including careers guidance. The local connexions centre is based in Melton and can be contacted on 01664 569966.
