Musical Events - Autumn 2007
John Ferneley musicians have been extremely busy this term preparing for a number of events. The first was at the switching on of the town lights in the market place. Many positive comments were made by the public about our flute group and choir.
At the ‘Distant Sleighs’ school concert over 100 pupils played and sang with great enthusiasm. The band, choir, steel bands, rock groups, samba band, brass and flute ensembles featured as well as 7NS hand bell group and nearly a 1/3rd of Year 7 pupils playing on tuned percussion! In addition there were some superb solo items. Mince pies and mulled wine were served at the interval by the PTA.
On December 6th the choir excelled themselves at the Mayors Carol Service.
The last event of the Christmas season will be the school carol service at St Mary’s Church with the whole school taking part. |
