FUND RAISING 2009

RED NOSE DAY 2009

An unbelievable effort from the staff and Pupils at John Ferneley meant that £1,925 was raised by the school for Red Nose Day. The money was raised in a variety of ways.

> 240 red noses were sold.
> 2v2 Basketball against the staff. The only winners being Joe Adams,
Liam Mabbott, Lauren Smith and Jess Baker.
> Charity Dodgeball competition with Miss Rowell in charge of the winning team.
> Sponge throwing at the teachers and for extra money you could tip a bucket

over your favourite teacher. Mr Jacobs topped the table with 8 buckets.
> Cake sale organised by Miss Rowell.
> Mr Amli and Jack Brown had their arms waxed in front of a live audience.
> Jordan Hurst had his hair cut off.
> Non uniform day: Miss Umbleja came as a smurf! There was a red nose show

in the afternoon, the highlight being Curtis Cotterill somersaulting over two

vaults with Mr Maggs lying on top of one, the lowlight being Mrs Oliver singing!

Thanks again to all staff students and parents for their support.

Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary

Some members of 9FAK – Emily Mullins, Emily Stott, Ashleigh Townsend and Emma Kwasiuk, have been fundraising for Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary. They have raised £36.87 from a cake sale and a ‘Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar’ competition.

The money raised will help to sponsor horses at the sanctuary.
Many thanks to those who bought cakes and entered the competition.
