UK Intermediate Mathematical Challenge

On Friday 6 th February, two mathematics groups sat a national challenge paper consisting of 25 multiple choice mathematical problems. Apparently there were over 181,000 entries across the country from pupils in Years 9, 10 & 11.

The pupils in 9EX & 9 set 1 took part and certificates were awarded for pupils
who scored highly on the challenge. As the pupils were competing against older
children we were again delighted with the results. The following pupils achieved
awards:

Bronze:
Jess Mabbott, Sydney Davies, Beth Elliman, Aimee Barratt, Daniel North and
Liam Mabbott.

Silver:
Kyle Gartshore, Ryan Miller and Annie Davies.

Special mention must go to Annie Davies who top scored in the school.

Pupils in Year 7 & 8 will be entered in the Junior Challenge which takes place on
Thursday 30th April.
